Pigeons, Kata Tjuta AUS

On our trip a few years ago to Australia’s Great Red Centre (actually so named), we saw these pigeons in the viewpoint parking lot for Kata Tjuta, near Uluru (aka Ayers Rock). I was reminded of them this last week as I struggled with Utah’s dryness on our current trip to America’s great red centre (not actually so named, but it could be).

Anyway, as our tour bus pulled in, the pigeons swarmed over to lap (slurp? beak?) up the water from our air conditioning unit. Pretty smart. Pretty desperate. And just plain pretty, as it were.
