Well, Does It?

By the time you read this, it will be November. As I write it, though, it’s October 31, the day that used to be Hallowe’en before COVID-19.

Last night/tonight there was/will be a blue moon. Not exactly as advertised because not, you know, blue.

Given Ottawa’s usual record with night-sky phenomena, I expect it will be cloudy tonight. But I can still enjoy this song, perfect for the day.

    I wasn’t familiar with that song. It’s a keeper.

  2. My disappointment was learning, through that darn science, that blue moons happen twice a year. Happily, a blue moon on Halloween is truly rare. Good song.

  3. I like the song. The setting seems more appropriate for Gordon Lightfoot’s “Song for a Winter Night.” We saw the first snow last week but for Hallowe’en the skies here were clear and most of the leaves had fallen so I could enjoy the silvery blue moon through a net of bare branches.
