As I write this, it’s Canada Day. We’re 155 years old.
I think I had 155 photos to choose from . . . You’ll be glad to know I didn’t use them all.

"And so it criticized each flower,
This supercilious seed;
Until it woke one summer hour,
And found itself a weed."
-Â Mildred Howells, The Different SeedÂ

Ontario provincial police say a truck "fully loaded with chickens" rolled over on the QEW this morning, blocking three westbound lanes. Early reports suggest not one chicken attempted to cross the road.

I'll be honest, I've been waiting for this change my entire life. I worked hard to get myself out of poverty and I will work even harder to get communities out of poverty. Government dependency will never be the answer for Indigenous people. Look at what it's done to us! https://twitter.com/windspeakernews/status/1559249151560384515
"The police have more important stuff to do than hand out tickets. 'hoods need help controlling reckless drivers & we have a ready-made, proven techno'l sol'n that will...pay for itself. Not every problem...has such a clear solution. This one does. What...are we waiting for?"

Beautiful, Isabel. Thanks.
Tom
Tom – Many thanks.
Nice work Isabel, beautiful photos, well shown. For me it’s unfortunate that you couldn’t locate a standing statue of Sir John A. to publish. But that’s just me.
Ken – 🙂 I’ll keep an eye open for one to use next year.
If you had the time to arrange all 155, I would happily find the time to absorb the glory in all of them. Never having tried to create this sort of video presentation, I can only guess at the care, thought, and commitment it takes. Thank you for all of that and for sharing your momentous journey of appreciation. I am refreshed!
Laurna – Many thanks. Yes, it takes a while, but it’s fun. I lose track of the time when I’m doing it, which is the right sign, I think.
Nice collection of images put to good use well.
(Is that grammatically correct?)
Jim R – Hahaha. I think so, but see why you wondered: a non-standard construction. In any event, I know what you mean, and thank you.
Beautiful photos, thoughtfully presented. Coast to coast, no less. You are a first class nature photographer – subject, composition, lighting, mood – everything!
Judith – Many thanks. We’ve been very lucky to get to all provinces and territories, although I have no nature shots of Nunavut. (I think. 🙂 I’ll check with the Big Guy, to whom I delegate the task of knowing where I am.)
Lovely ‘movie’.
Mary – Many thanks.
Loved both before and after the intermission!
Lorna – 🙂
Lovely photos! Made me curious how you organize them? By colour? By subject matter? By location? Well done!
Alison – Many thanks! My filing/organization leaves something to be desired. I started with subject filing and then went to chronology with some subject sub-folders and then to major trips . . . so it’s sort of a mess.
