One advantage of going to familiar places is that I know what to look out for: in this case, the in-full-leaf trees reflected in the sunroof, windshield, and hood of our SUV parked in its usual spot, as viewed from my usual spot on the second-storey deck.
New vistas can be exciting; familiar ones can be exquisite, joining hands across time to draw from and add to each other’s beauty.
I was forced into buying a new car on Friday after a donkey walked into my cute little Jeep from a “blind” farm lane two weeks ago. Not the first time a donkey has walked onto that highway, according to one of the lovely people who stopped to help. (Yes, I’m OK! But the poor beast died shortly after the accident.) So, I find the choices of “color” in new cars is uninspiring with black or white being the norm. I settled for a misty grey. But your photo inspires me to imagine cars painted like your car appears in the photo. Cars would be works of art! They already have neutral backgrounds. And perhaps these masterpieces would viewed more cautiously and respectfully by other drivers for that kind of attention to detail. Donkeys are another matter, of course.
Laurna – Oh, no! I’m so sorry – accidents are always nasty, and having to buy a new car is nearly nasty. I like your idea of cars as works of art: I imagine a coating that could be programmed so that it would vary. Of course, that might make it even trickier to find my car in a parking lot. ๐
Thank you for introducing me to the reflections in cars. On my visit to Saskatchewan last week, I was driven around, rather than having to concentrate on driving. And, there were the fabulous reflections you have taught my eye to see!
Perhaps “they” should invent car wraps that would be the same technology as bus wraps.
Judith – Excellent! Good to know. As for bus wraps, in case anyone is interested in finding out about fitting them to a smaller vehicle, here’s a place to start: What is a Bus Wrap?
Speaking of cars, my first new car was a 1959 Plymouth Savoy.
I tried to paste a picture but it wouldn’t let me.
Brings back memories, though.
