Chasing the standoffish sandhill cranes (they don’t seem to want to get any closer than about 100 yards), I gave up trying to get good pictures of them and started taking pictures of things that were more accommodating. Like the near and far vista.

John – Ive thought about it, but it also means a tripod — a heavy duty one. I’m not sure how much time I’ll spend watching and waiting . . .
