Let Ithaka be always in your thoughts.
To get there is your goal and destiny.
But do not hasten to your journey’s end:
it’s better if it lasts for many years
so that you'll reach the island when you’re old,
wealthy with all you’ve gained along the way,
not hoping Ithaka will make you rich.
Your marvellous journey is Ithaka’s gift.
Without her you would not have started out.
But she has nothing more to give you now.
And if you find she's poor, you’ve not been fooled.
So wise have you become, so much you’ve learned,
that you will know what Ithakas must be.

She didn’t get the memo!
Tom
Tom – 🙂 She did not. I expect she has it now.
I’d love to have my-cousin-the-mathematician estimate the odds of those numbers coming up. The chance of getting the 123456 total miles is probably one in one — it’s inevitable if you keep driving long enough. The chances of getting the 789 to match it is probably, well, 1 in 123,456. Or maybe less, if you could think far enough ahead to set your trip gauge back to zero at 122667….

I can imagine this scene in our car. Although I am the only one with a phone/camera. Sometimes, the universe is handing out goodies that are too much fun not to share. Thanks for sharing!
Laurna – 🙂 Thank *you*.
