This post introduces a new personal challenge.
Background
The Big Guy says he learned to fly an airplane partly because of all those people over the centuries who yearned to fly, before we could. Now that we can, how could he waste the opportunity?
I can easily pass on learning to fly, but I get the point. I love movies – even short ones. Now that digital cameras and software let us make movies relatively easily, how can I waste the opportunity?
So I’m going to try to post a weekly movie – a super-short video on something – to learn by doing: both the technical and the creative aspects.
First Up: A Nature Video
The common loon: Who the heck named this magnificent bird?
Certainly was a good size fish. Always amazed at how a fish will go down a fish’s throat.
Nice to be that close to the action.
Looking forward to your hopeful video/week
Jim – Yup. The fish seemed to be scavenged – dead already – and we really wondered whether it was too big for buddy. He had different ideas.
Oops …how “large” a fish will go down….. (know any good editors?☺☺)
Jim – And, maybe, down a loon’s throat? If we didn’t do these sorts of things, we wouldn’t need editors.
I liked the “IT’S A FISH” remark — loud and certain, and well timed.
Barbara – For the longest time, we couldn’t see what it was playing with. Nor understand why it didn’t take off as we got closer. I think it was unwilling to dive with the fish, but eventually that was its best course of action.
